Sports Funding 2016/17

We are making work carried out by the grant sustainable by: ensuring that actions become part of normal practice; ensuring training is disseminated to all staff in order to improve levels of expertise.

Intended Impact

Employment of teachers and TAs with sporting expertise to act as coaches and to widen offer of sporting extra-curricular activities

£5,400

  • Coaches will work alongside teachers in lessons to increase subject knowledge and confidence in PE
  • Increased participation in a wider range of sporting extra-curricular activities
  • Capacity to release teachers/TAs to accompany teams to sporting events (£2000)
  • planning and staffing termly internal sports tournaments Autumn - Football, Summer Athletics

Participation in Level 2 Kent School Games and sporting fixtures (inter-school)

  • Attendance at Kent School Games festivals,

  • Increased participation in a wider range of sporting extra-curricular activities

  • Attendance at eight Kent School Games festivals, one Kent School Games final, two tag rugby fixtures, one hockey fixture and one athletics tournament

Funding to ensure all children have access to Swimming Curriculum

  • All Year 3/4 children attended swimming lessons this year for one long term.
