What is the Parents’ Forum?
The Parents’ Forum involves us asking parents for their views on issues which we would like to develop and improve, shares current or new practices in school or responds to constructive ideas and queries from you.
Who can attend?
We welcome everyone who is a parent or a carer of a child at Marden Primary School. We genuinely want to listen to your views. If you are unable to come to any meeting, but would like to express your views, we welcome emails too. Just send them FAO Sarah Beckett to email@example.com
What happens at the meetings?
We advertise each meeting in the school newsletter and include what will be on the agenda for discussion. At each meeting we sit in a relaxed group and have a chat. It is not a formal meeting. We gather ideas and comments from the parents who wish to share their views (there is no obligation to contribute!) and then respond via Parentmail once the issue has been further discussed or investigated. Agendas often come from parents’ views expressed through parental surveys or the Forum. If you have any topics you would like discussed in future meetings, please email and we will add those suggestions to the agendas of subsequent meetings.
When are the meetings?
In response to parents’ suggestions, we now hold two meetings for each date: one at 9.00 am in the dining hall and one at 7.00 pm (if there are enough parents able to attend) in the main school hall. Whilst we cannot offer a crèche for the 9.00 am meeting and young children remain the responsibility of their parents, we do provide a small selection of toys.
What are the issues?
The dates (all at 9am and 7pm) for this year’s meetings are:
- Wednesday 10th October
- Tuesday 5th March
- Wednesday 1st May
- Tuesday 16th July
Agendas will be advertised nearer each meeting and may be reactive according to needs or interests.
