Football Tournament

Maidstone Area School Football Tournament.

The school football team competed in the Maidstone Area School Football Tournament which comprised of 19 teams from in and around Maidstone. After beating Madginford 2-0 and St Michaels 2-1, the team drew 1-1 with St Francis. This meant that the team had to beat Headcorn in order to go through to the semi-finals. The deciding game finished in a draw, meaning a penalty shoot-out was required to decide who would go through to the semi-finals. The team held their nerve, winning the spot kick contest to set up a semi-final against East Borough. Despite dominating the game and missing several opportunities to defeat their stubborn opponents, the team went out on sudden death penalties.
The team should be very proud of their achievements, finishing third of 19 schools in a highly competitive tournament. Well done to all who played in the tournament: Harrison, Max D, Josh L, Toby L, Alfie C, Nathan, Ruairi and Jack C.
